Hacienda Solano Selección 2020

Red wine by the bottle or glass.

The Solano family has cared for and nurtured the Tempranillo vines for this Ribera del Duero for over 30 years, and it’s even organic. The roots now delve deep into the varied soil, which here offers clay, marl, and limestone. Add 2% of the green Albillo grape, and you get a lightly aromatic Ribera del Duero with balanced tannins and a long, rich aftertaste.
After cold maceration of the grapes for 2-3 days and a fermentation period of 9-10 days, Hacienda Solano wine is aged for eight months in classic French barriques and 500L tonneaux barrels, and then the wine matures for an additional 3 months in the bottle before release.

Domaine Begude Chardonnay 2021

Tropical, pure, and organic. The Chardonnay you’ve been dreaming of!
Begude makes fantastic cool climate wine, and it’s no exception when it comes to their “Terroir 11300” Chardonnay, which is in the glass. 11300 is the postcode for Lemoux, and it underscores that at Begude, they make terroir-driven wine at 340 meters altitude – resulting in cool, pure wine.
The nose is tropical with peach, pineapple, a hint of herbs, yellow apples, honeydew melon, and quince. The palate has a nice fullness, a touch of spicy tones, and a discreet oak influence (85% of the wine is cold-fermented in stainless steel tanks and 15% is aged in large 600-liter oak barrels). Balanced, medium acidity with pineapple, pear, filippa apple, almonds, and peach as primary notes.
